Juliann Xu is a film composer from Champaign, Illinois, trained at Berklee College of Music. Now based in Los Angeles, she is a classically trained clarinetist who specializes in orchestral music, and loves creating hybrid scores with a mix of synths and traditional instruments. Her credits include Wallaby Drew, an Emerson Frames Per Second film, The 97th Academy Awards, and El Ano Decisivo, a documentary film about the Spanish Transition to Democracy.

In addition to her studies, Juliann served as the Executive Director of the award-winning Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra, where she managed 70+ orchestra members, produced, and performed in concerts. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was awarded the Wachter Fellowship, Don Wilkins Award, Thrive Scholarship, and Woodwind Scholarship, along with being on the Dean's List in every semester at Berklee.

In January 2025, Juliann began working at Fine Line Music Service in Los Angeles under the mentorship of Greg Jamrok, Abraham Libbos, and Josef Zimmerman. As she grows as a copyist, orchestrator, and composer, she hopes to build meaningful connections and create more Asian-American representation in the film industry.
